As I reflect on everything we did and learned in this class, I can honestly say I feel more prepared in pursuing my career as an educator than I did before. At first I was a little nervous about the text presentations, but after my first one and listening to my peer's presentations on the texts they chose, I actually enjoyed them. I found that I actually really liked a lot of the books that my classmates talked about and I appreciate the opportunity to learn about all the different resources I could potentially use in my future classroom.
I can't say that my text presentations were perfect, but I learned a lot after each one and became more comfortable being in front of an audience. One of the coolest things I discovered from this class is how much I enjoy a discussion based classroom. I learned about how effective they are, and I can't wait to apply this to my future classroom.
I am actually very glad we had the NES practice test book as our textbook for this course because I know it will aid me in the exam I have to take, and I learned some valuable information that taught me how to help my students in my future classroom. I am also glad we covered the Common Core Standards because I had only looked through them briefly before this class, and I know they will be something that I will have to use in the future, so it was nice to prepare for it.
I know I have grown throughout this class because I feel more prepared in pursuing this. I am thankful for the opportunity to learn everything I did and to discover a whole new perspective on what the future might look like.

This week's reading was an interesting and enjoyable one. I had never really been in a classroom that was discussion-based until my senior year of high school, and quite honestly it was very nerve-racking for me because it was my first one. Most people in my classroom were comfortable speaking out but some weren't, which is why it was interesting to read about how to make a successful discussion-based classroom. I think if classes focused less of their time on just lectures early on in student's lives, the students would eventually grow out of their shell and become comfortable in future situations that require speaking up. I think this was the problem for me.
